During Christmas breaks, I would pay my godmother a visit and I would stay in her place until the New Year’s eve. It’s just fine with my parents since they are too busy with their grandchildren and the our house would be very alive, it would be full of glittering packages, huge Christmas tree, thousands of Christmas lights, Christmas songs playing round the clock and noises from every corner of the house. I opt to have a solemn celebration with my godmother in her beach resort unit. The night would be calm and serene, we would cook turkey and have a glass of wine in the porch overlooking the velvet sea. I could meditate and analyze the things that had transpire in my life for the past year. That wouldn’t be possible if I would be surrounded by my little nieces and nephews.
Before Christmas eve, my godmother would always buy new Rugs for her home. It has been a tradition, changing all her Area Rugs in preparation for the new year to come. It was a tradition handed down to her from her great grandparents, it was believed that a new rug will change the aura of the house and make it the inhabitant of the place more resistant to idiosyncrasy and monotony. So the very same day I went to her place, we went to a an Elegant and Cheap Rugs store downtown. And as usual, I got to choose a couple of rugs for her home. We would be buying one for the foyer, one for the porch, a total of six rugs for the three bedrooms, two bath rugs, one in the kitchen, one in the dining area, one in the receiving area and a stair rug. The old rugs would either go to charity or be given to relatives who wants them. A year old rug is not that worn out. When we step in the house of rugs, it was a whole new experience for me.

I recieved a birthday gift from my friends and I was really surprised because I know that they also have no money because both our salary has been postponed. There was a doctor who fell in love with a beautiful woman, she was kindhearted and a very loving woman. But there was a small flaw in her pretty face. She has a small birthmark the shape of a sole in her right cheek. It was very noticeable and somewhat affecting her appearance. But her personality was great and was very much loved by the people who knew her. When the doctor and the woman got married they were so happy. Everything falls into place, they were a happy couple. Not until his co doctor commented something about the birthmark of his wife. He told the doctor that his wife will become more beautiful if the birthmark would be gone from her face.

One day a father was trying to teach his son the bad effects of alcohol in the body. He then got two jar, in one jar he put water and in the other one he put hard drinks. Then he got two worms, he then put each worm in the two jar. The worm in the water lived but the worm in the hard drinks, shivered and died. Then the father asked his son what was the lesson in the story. The son proudly said that if someone drinks hard, he will never have get worms inside his stomach.
Sometimes, we need to think out of the box if we want to teach our children the lessons in life.

Just before I answered the phone, my bestfriend told me she will be getting a
candle. I couldn’t see a thing, I just pictured in my mind the location of the telephone. The loud ringing helped me find it. My heart was beating too fast,I couldn’t breath. I knew back then there was something wrong. With a trembling hands, I picked up the phone. My boyfriend was in the other line, he was safe. Before I could say a word he told me that IÂ need to brace myself with the reason why he was late for our dinner. What he told me made my shiver and goosebumps ran all over my body. He told me my bestfriend had an accident that afternoon and she was dead. Then I heard footsteps coming towards me. It was my bestfriend holding a candle smiling at me. She said she will miss me and greeted me with a happy birthday, then she blew the candle.
